Doug triche

Doug Triche brings 45 years of experience in religious education and pastoral ministry to his service on the Thomas Berry Project Advisory Council at Loyola University New Orleans. He holds a Master of Religious Education (1989) and has served as a classroom teacher, director of campus ministry, parish director of religious education, youth minister, catechist, school administrator, and principal. His experience also includes national speaking on religious education, consulting and writing for religious textbook publishers, and service on the Board of Trustees of St. Joseph Seminary College.

Doug’s educational philosophy is grounded in the conviction that education is fundamentally religious and transformative. Drawing on the insights of Alfred North Whitehead and Thomas Berry, he understands education as a means of awakening people to the sacred and transcendent dimensions of creation and to their responsibility within the larger Earth community. He brings this perspective, along with his decades of experience as an educator and mentor, to supporting the Thomas Berry Project’s mission and vision.
