Bio
Elaine Voci is a writer and author, drawing on two decades of experience as a retired Certified Life Coach. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science from Stonehill College, and a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Purdue University. Throughout her coaching career, Elaine empowered hundreds of clients to navigate significant career transitions and achieve personal growth. Her methodology uniquely blended Gestalt therapy, contemplative spirituality, and mindfulness practices including prayer, meditation, and journaling.
Since 2014, she has been certified as a Life Cycle Celebrant to perform personalized weddings, and funerals for Midwest families unaffiliated with a particular faith. By crafting exceptional customized ceremonies, rich in lyrical language and transformative storytelling, Elaine has helped meet the unique spiritual needs of a contemporary and diverse population. Her services are known for bringing comfort, a sense of the sacred, and an uplifting wholeness to the universal human family.
Elaine remains passionate about serving others as the host of two monthly Zoom groups: “Hearts On Our Sleeves” for women in the second half of life and “Grateful Gatherings” for people seeking connection and community founded by Benedictine monk Brother David Steindl-Rast. A non-fiction writer, she translates real-world wisdom into insightful content on personal/spiritual development for older adults and has published ten inspirational books on grief, dying and leaving a legacy of love. Her recent essay, "A Contemplative View of Resilient Aging” was published by the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Soul Food, an inclusive collection of perspectives on contemplative living and leadership. She is a public speaker, and recently spoke at a local community conference, “The Healthy Aging Brain,” on the topic of legacy writing. Elaine is currently pursuing a Certificate in Theology & Ministry in the Loyola Institute for Ministry at Loyola University New Orleans.
